LG Optimus One is the first smartphone to be launched in the UK with the latest version of Google's operating system (Android 2.2 Froyo) on board. Furthermore, this is the third Android device that will be available in the UK.

3 UK has recently announced that it will add LG's Optimus One smartphone to its offerings.

One of the carrier's officials confirmed that the device will be available in stores starting next week as a PAYG phone(Pay-As-You-Go).

Optimus One comes with a built-in mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, LG App Advisor, which offers users recommendations about useful apps, as well as 3D media gallery.

The device is the first phone on 3’s network that embeds two internal antennas instead of the usual single antenna for picking up 3G signal

This improves GSM signal reception and makes sure that users get the best data transfer speeds when using the 3G network.

LG Optimus One is a mid-range smartphone and is powered by a 600 MHz processor. It comes with a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 262k colors and 320 x 480 pixel resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

The device measures 113.5 x 59 x 13.3 mm, weighs 129g (battery included) and comes with a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery that should last up to 700 hours standby mode or 8 hours talk time.

Other key features of the gadget include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS with A-GPS support, 170 MB internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB card included), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support and 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording function.
