LG is about to debut the Optimus Hub budget-friendly Android smartphone in the UK. The handset was unveiled back in September as Optimus One’s sequel, but has yet to match the latter’s popularity among Android fans.

According to SoMobile, the LG Optimus Hub is now available for pre-order at third party retailer TheOrder for £210 (325 USD or 250 EUR). The phone is delivered unlocked and SIM free as soon as the retailer receives the first stock.

However, the handset may be introduced by several UK-based carriers as well, who will probably offer it for free on select plans.

TheOrder offers customers several deals on the Optimus Hub, which include various bundles, including Bluetooth headset, in car charger or Bluetooth Car Kit, as well as free delivery.

Besides the handset, the sales package includes a charger, a data cable, LG stereo headphones, as well as the instruction manual.

The Optimus Hub comes with a pretty decent 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

Just like Optimus One, the Optimus Hub comes with HSDPA and HSUPA support, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity options.

The smartphone features a bar form factor and runs Google’s Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, complemented by LG’s proprietary Optimus 2.0 user interface on top.

This is probably one of those smartphones that will never receive an official Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, but there will be ways of getting Android 4.0 running on this handset.

Furthermore, the Optimus Hub is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227Т processor clocked at 800 MHz and packs 150 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Although the handset maker states that the Optimus Hub will be delivered with a free 2GB memory card in the sales package, the retailer doesn’t mention anything.
