Unveiled back in September, the LG Univa has just been introduced in India as LG Optimus Hub. It appears that LG India is the first to debut the smartphone in the country, but the Optimus Hub is also available for pre-order in the UK.

Android fans who cannot afford an expensive device can purchase the budget-friendly LG Optimus Hub for Rs 12,990 (250 USD or 190 EUR) outright. The smartphone is available via regional carrier Letsbuy and will soon go live at Flipkart as well.

The Optimus Hub is an affordable Android-powered handset that could be an interesting choice for customers who never had an Android smartphone.

The device is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Optimus 2.0 user interface on top. The phone is likely to stay on this version of Android, so don't get your hopes high on a possible Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the future.

LG Optimus Hub sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 262k colors. In addition, the smartphone is protected by (surprise, surprise) Corning Gorilla Glass.

On the back, the smartphone packs a 5-megpapixel with digital zoom, autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

According to LG, “for the music enthusiasts, MP3 Player is there to enjoy the advantages and to enjoy the music whenever one wants and FM Radio for enjoying the latest music and news anytime.”

It is also worth mentioning that the Optimus Hub comes pre-loaded with Social+ and Ebuddy that allows users to communicate with their friends families without having to pay for any additional costs.

Hardware-wise, the Optimus Hub is equipped with an 800 MHz processor, complemented by an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit. Furthermore, the phone packs only 150 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, and microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
