LG Optimus 3D, the first smartphone in the world to offer stereoscopic 3D capabilities, is now listed as available for pre-order in the UK with a price tag of £514.80 attached to it (VAT included). The mobile phone was officially announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a few weeks ago, and should arrive on shelves in the UK in mid-April, it seems.

Clove is the retailer to have the new smartphone on pre-order on its website, and those interested in it should head here to learn more on the deal.

The LG Optimus 3D lands on shelves with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system on board, while sporting a Texas Instruments OMAP4 Dual Core application processor clocked in at 1Ghz.

Moreover, the company announced this device as featuring a unique 'tri-dual' configuration: dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory, which would give it a supplementary performance boost.

The handset sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and which can display 3D (up to 720p) multimedia content without requiring the use of special glasses.

To make things even more appealing, LG packed the device with 3D recording capabilities as well, courtesy of dual-lens 5-megapixels camera with auto focus, LED flash and HD video recording capabilities.

3D content that recorded with the phone can be easily viewed on the larger screens of 3D TVs and monitors via a HDMI 1.4 connection.

The specifications list of this device also includes 8 GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

HSPA+ and DLNA/HDMI 1.4 were included into the mix too, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a built-in GPS receiver.

The handset is powered by a 1,500 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should offer enough juice for extended usage. The LG Optimus 3D measures 128.8 x 68 x 11.9 mm and weighs in at 168g.

Those UK users interested in the purchase of the LG Optimus 3D would learn more on it on this page at Clove.
