As we reported earlier, the LG Optimus 2X has just gone live at Fido for just $100 with a new three-year agreement on select plans.

Unfortunately, it appears that the carrier was not well prepared for the launch event as the smartphone is now out of stock.

It makes one wonder how many units Fido had before announcing the availability of the Optimus 2X, as the stock depleted in only a few hours.

Those who wish to purchase the Optimus 2X via Fido may try one of the carrier's stores, as the webstore clearly shows that there are no Optimus 2X units in stock anymore:

Sorry, this phone is currently out of stock. Check back often to find out when it will be available.” Luckily, the smartphone will be available in the near future at WIND and Videotron, but until then one can only hope that Fido will replenish Optimus 2X stocks quickly.

For the non-tech savvy, the Optimus 2X is Fido's first dual-core Android smartphone and comes with a 4.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

In addition, the smartphone features accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and Gyro sensor.

The phone boasts an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, face and smile detection, touch focus, image stabilization, video recording capabilities (1080p@24fps), as well as a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls.

As the name suggests the Optimus 2X is equipped with a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Tegra 2 processor, complemented by an ULP GeForce GPU.

In addition, it packs 8GB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

According to the manufacturer, the phone's 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide up to 400 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.
