LG will soon offer a new handset for UK's mobile users: the weird KS360, which was first seen last month, during the CommunicAsia fair from Singapore.

[admark=1]LG KS360 is targeted towards youngsters who mostly use their mobile phones for texting, emailing and social networking. Thus, LG has packed in the handset a full sliding QWERTY keyboard with round buttons, plus a 2.4 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels. Back in June, KS360 was presented as not having a touch-enabled screen, but fortunately it does.

The new LG also comes with an accelerometer as well as the following features: tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, a 2 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and video recording, Music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+, FM Radio, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, MMS capabilities, WAP browser, Instant Messaging, email (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP and Microsoft Exchange), USB, only 15MB of internal memory and microSD card support for up to 4GB.

When not slid, LG KS360 measures 101.5 x 51 x 16.8 millimeters ? not quite slim, but its QWERTY keyboard compensates for it.

As you can see, the KS360 is not exactly an iPhone 3G competitor (Apple's new handset went on sale today, offered in the UK exclusively via O2), but it's still a pretty good mid-end device.

LG will release the KS360 in August, via the first and fourth largest UK mobile operators (O2 and Orange). The texting machine will apparently be available only on pre-pay, for an affordable price that has not been disclosed yet. KS360 will be sold in four color combinations: black / silver, black / red, titanium / blue and white / pink.

Since affordable QWERTY handsets tend to be quite popular (see the LG Rumor, available in North America), the KS360 has all the chances to be a real success.
