LG KF600, one of the latest high-end phones from LG Electronics, was just released in Romania, bringing its exclusive touch-sensitive navigation pad and its elegant design to Romanian mobile users.

Successor of the highly appreciated LG Chocolate, the new KF600 comes in a slider form factor and offers a touch-sensitive InteractPad (240 x 176 pixels and 262K colors) that has the role of a secondary display. The InteractPad features haptic feedback and it can be customized for any navigation need, hence it can be turned into a a game controller, a music player controller and so on. LG KF600 doesn't have hardware buttons when closed, so it can only be controlled via the intuitive touch navigation pad. However, when slided, the handset unveils a fully functional standard keypad.

Besides the touch-sensitive InteractPad, LG KF600 also offers a wide range of other cool features: a 2 inch, 262K color TFT display with a 320 x 240 pixels resolution, a 3 Megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording, EDGE, GPRS, Media player, WAP 2.0 Internet browser, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Java MIDP 2.0, document viewer, multi-tasking capabilities, microSD card support and so on.

Measuring 101.2 x 50.7 x 14.1 mm (when closed) and weighing 107 grams, LG KF600 packs a 800 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide a talk-time of up to 3 hours and a stand-by time of up to 300 hours.

"The LG KF600 and the InteractPad reflect LG's commitment to making its handsets easier to use through improved user interface technology," said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "Usability is truly at the centre of this handset's design and it represents LG's latest achievement in making phones that connect with their users. This handset offers a mere glimpse into a newly emerging trend in the mobile market. LG is researching and developing new ways to improve usability and will continue focus on features that add practical benefits for users."

LG created a website dedicated to KF600's release in Romania, where users can find out more about the handset. The website can be accessed at this address.

The new KF600 is available in Romania on the Orange and Vodafone networks and various handset distributors, for a suggested retail price of 1199 RON ($485 or 320 Euro).
