South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has just announced the launch of a new wireless charging solution that sports a sleek and sharp design, namely the LG Wireless Charging Pad (WCP-700). The leading handset vendor expects for the new LG Wireless Charging Pad to revolutionize the wireless charging as known today.

The new device arrives on shelves with inductive coils built into the battery doors, along with internal contacts and with advanced wireless charging technology, which would enable users charge the device through a cord-free power source.

Thus, the phone will no longer have limited functionality when charging, since there is no need for external connections.

Some of the main features of the new LG Wireless Charging Pad would include:

Visual, audible and tactile feedback – allows user to see, feel and hear when the phone is placed properly on the pad - Power LED - Blue = Plugged in - Battery LED - Orange = Ready to Charge - Battery LED - Flashing Green = Phone is Charging Correctly - Battery LED - Solid Green = Phone is Fully Charged Slim and sleek design – allows for convenient storage, taking up minimal space Effective Range – 7mm from center of placement guide Dimensions – 6.29”x3.54”x0.39”

The mobile phone maker also notes that the new LG Wireless Charging Pad offers advanced wireless charging and ergonomics.

The LG Wireless Charging Pad enhances and simplifies usage through audible and tactile feedback when a mobile phone is placed on it. Moreover, it comes with the aforementioned multi-colored LED lights to indicate charging status.

“Taking the hassle out of charging your wireless devices, LG Wireless Charging Pad also sports a compact, sleek design to easily accommodate an on-the-go lifestyle,” the handset vendor stated.

The new LG charging Pad comes with a technology somehow similar to the one present with the HP/Palm's Touchstone devices.

Unfortunately, the company did not unveil specific info on the exact availability and pricing of the new device, but more should become available soon. It also remains to be seen what technology would LG pack in its phones to make them compatible with the new LG Wireless Charging Pad.
