The handset vendor will launch it in additional markets soon after

On Sunday, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics officially announced the planned arrival of its LG Optimus L5 smartphones on the European market this month.

The handset, one of the latest stylish, high-fashion L-Series smartphones from the handset vendor, is set to hit shelves in the U.K., Germany and France at first.

However, it would be released in CIS, Middle East and Asia soon after, while also being planned for launch in Central America and South America, LG announced.

The smartphone arrives on the market with L-Style’s elegant design philosophy, seamlessly putting together style and technology.

The handset features a slim body that measures only 9.5mm, and it provides users with a wide range of appealing features, including dual SIM capabilities in Asia, CIS, Middle East, Central and South America.

The LG Optimus L5 also arrives on the market with NFC “Tag & Play” capabilities in in Europe and North America, offering support for mobile commerce and peer-to-peer sharing.

“The LG Optimus L5 is a very balanced smartphone that offers a great combination of design, display, performance, battery life and price that many will find very attractive,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

“This device, along with other products in our L-Series portfolio, will especially appeal to fashion forward users everywhere.”

The specifications list of this device includes a MSM7225A (Cortex A5 800MHz) chipset, up to 4GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

Moreover, the phone sports a 4.0-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, and a 1,500mAh battery inside.

The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and it packs a new user interface from LG, to enable users to do more with only a few taps on the screen.

“The Optimus L5 boasts LG’s new User Experience (UX) with QuickMemo which allows users the ability to instantly jot memos or notes from any screen without having to open a separate application,” the handset vendor notes.
