LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes, the adventure game from TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive, has managed to take the number one position in the United Kingdom video game chart during its debut week.

Meanwhile gamers flock to get their superhero fix ahead of the launch of the most recent movie in the saga that Christopher Nolan is creating.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes uses the familiar mechanics of the brick-based titles, with players able to take enemies apart for pieces and then reassemble them in order to gain access to new content and experiences.

FIFA 12, the EA Sports made football simulation, has slid down one place when compared to last week, but it is still playing very well and hanging on to second even if England has been eliminated from the Euro 2012 finals via the familiar routine of penalty kick failure.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the shooter from Ubisoft, has also been pushed down one place in order to reach the last position on the United Kingdom podium.

Max Payne 3, the slow-motion-based shooter from Rockstar and Take Two, is in fourth and shows that its old bones still have plenty of fight left in them.

At the same time Battlefield 3 seems to be the most stubborn of the titles in the top ten because it sits unmoved in fifth place just as the Close Quarters DLC is being introduced.

Lollipop Chainsaw, another title published by Warner Bros. Interactive, has gone down two places in the United Kingdom in order to land in sixth and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games has managed to actually gain two positions in the chart, coming from ninth just as the real-world event is drawing closer.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has re-entered the top ten because of the imminent launch of the new Dawnguard DLC and Sniper Elite V2, from 505 Games, is another title that relinquished one place to move to ninth.

FIFA Street, also from EA Sports, closes down the United Kingdom top ten.
