A new Kyocera smartphone running under Google's Android operating system should become available for purchase on Sprint' airwaves in the next several weeks, namely the Kyocera Milano.

The new Kyocera Milano is a Gingerbread-based affordable device that was spotted into the wild before as the Kyocera Oblique, and which is expected to be released on shelves in a little over a week from now, on September 9th.

Moreover, rumor has it that the new mobile phone would include both a touchscreen display, as well as a sliding QWERTY keyboard, which will greatly expand its capabilities.

The handset has already received the necessary approvals from the FCC, and all that remains to be seen is when it would be introduced officially at Sprint.

A leaked document from the wireless carrier shows that the new smartphone will include an 800MHz application processor, and that it would sport 512MB of RAM.

At the same time, the new Kyocera device is expected to hit the market with 512MB of internal memory, which will be complemented by a microSD memory card slot so that users can expand the available storage space.

The handset will sport a 3-inch touchscreen display on the front, and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities.

The phone will also include support for 3G networks, as well as Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and a 2GB microSD card in the package.

As stated above, it should be put up for grabs with the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, and with the Swype keyboard loaded on it.

Support for other mobile applications and games will also be available for its users, as well as access to a variety of Google Mobile services, including Maps, Search, YouTube, and more.

The new Kyocera Milano might be released on shelves with a price tag of $49.99 attached to it with the signing of a contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
