Gaming rocks but can rockstars handle games?

We've all heard about Ubisoft, a great name in the industry of video game publishing and we've surely heard about Korn, a great name in the world of NU metal, the new rock sub-genre. Turns out that the band has already written and recorded a new tune, inspired by Haze, one of Ubisoft's upcoming titles. The song will be made available on all radio stations and televisions in November, coinciding with the game's official launch.

Can anyone guess what the title of the song is? It sure isn't original, but Korn decided to name it "Haze" and make it available on music download sites. In case you still can't find a connection between the controversial rockers and Ubisoft's title, you'll understand their passion for videogames by checking out Jonathan Davis' quote : "Gaming for me is a religion and Haze is the sh*t!" The band's frontman seems one hell of a gamer, as he felt the need to express what he felt while playing the game through a new song.

This tells us two things: for starters, Davis has already played Haze and second, rockstars have enough spare time to play other titles besides Guitar Hero. Jonathan Davis has admitted before that he's a great fan of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and GRAW 2 titles. This initiative turns Ubisoft and Korn into pioneers as they open a new road for partnerships between game producers and artists, that will boost each other's image and fame.

Ubisoft doesn't seem to be gambling with this co-operation as they've seen what a good soundtrack can do, specially in the case of the NFS titles, which always included brilliant scores. While EA chooses to promote new bands and create new trends, Ubisoft capitalizes on already famous groups, like Korn who will now be the company's new image thanks to the brand association.
