It seems that Kno, the company that has been trying to deliver its educational tablets, may end up going through some changes in the near future, if a recent string of rumors is to be believed that is.

End-users interested in what has been happening on the tablet market will be aware of a certain device, or pair of devices, that Kno has been working on.

Essentially, the outfit has been speaking of a 14.1-inch tablet and a dual-tablet product (two 14.1-inch screens) meant for the educational sector.

Unfortunately, they have been going through a serious case of being unfashionably late, having been delayed yet again not too long ago, despite how they should have been ready months ago.

Turns out the problem may lie in the fact that the outfit hasn't been having an easy time of managing its expensive hardware business.

The rumors are implying that, with the sudden boom of the tablet market, the Kno end-to-end solution is no longer expected to perform, marketing-wise, as well as originally thought.

That said, Kno wants to sell off its educational tablet hardware side of the business and, for the future, only provide services and software for whatever tablets already exist or will come out over time.

In other words, Kno wants to make programs/applications for the many Android slates being announced, as well as the iPad.

So far, two companies are supposedly interested in both the single and dual-screen Kno slates, one of which is implied to have already signed an NDA.

Whoever they are, however, is still a mystery, and considering how Kno refused to, up till now, offer any sort of comment, it is unclear when the situation will be explained more clearly.

It is also hard to tell whether a deal of this sort would allow the Kno tablets to finally sell or if all shipments will just be halted in favor of new development efforts.
