Those that had been waiting for Kno to send over their tablets for use in schools will likely not be pleased to hear that, for reasons as of yet unclear, the company has one again delayed shipments.

In a world where the word tablet has become more or less synonymous with media slate, tablets with different purposes inevitably get attention.

Kno even managed to stand out more than the rest because its particular device not only had a bigger screen size, but it also had a dual-display construction (it is available as a single-screen device as well).

Regardless of version, the Kno's display has a diagonal of 14.1 inches, which already sets it apart form the fold (most are 10-inch or 7-inchers).

The native resolution of the panel is 1440 x 900 pixels while the hardware is centered around the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip).

This means that it can handle HD media and a lot of other things, although it is specifically meant for students, teachers and educators.

Other specifications include 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage, 512 MB of RAM (random access memory), WiFi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor and a battery that can last for up to 6 hours.

Shipments of the Kno were supposed to have started months ago and, after some delays, had supposedly begun being carried out as far back as December.

Unfortunately, it seems that problems are not over even now, as eBookNewser reports that, according to a so-called valued source, Kno tablets, or at least some of them, won't ship for another 60 days.

It was also stated that not all pre-orders will ship, at least not from the get go, as the first shipment will be restricted to a limited number of students and professors. No numbers were given, unfortunately.
