Kinect Star Wars, the LucasArts and Microsoft collaboration that employs the familiar science fiction universe to power a number of mini-games that use motion tracking, has managed to become the first video game designed specifically for the Kinect hardware to top the United Kingdom chart.

The Xbox 360 title has been coldly received by critics, but it seems that the power of the Star Wars universe is enough to make even mediocre titles best sellers.

Second place in the United Kingdom for the week that ended on April 7 has been taken over by FIFA Street, the football simulation from EA Sports that focuses on tricks and quick games, a game that has slid down one place over the previous week.

Mass Effect 3, the action and role playing mix from developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts, has occupied the last place on the podium after spending last week in second.

FIFA 12, the normal football title from EA Sports, has managed to complete a very good week for publisher Electronic Arts by taking over fourth place coming from fifth, mainly because of the impending release of the Euro 2012 themed downloadable content later during the month.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, yet another sports simulation, has picked up fifth place, sliding down three places when compared to the previous week, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the first-person shooter from Infinity Ward and publisher Activision Blizzard, has occupied sixth place.

SSX, the snowboarding title from EA Sports, has managed to climb three positions in order to reach seventh place, while Mario & Sonic at the Lo0ndon 2012 Olympic Games, from SEGA, has also gone up one place in order to reach eight.

Battlefield 3, the FPS from DICE and Electronic Arts, is in ninth while the United Kingdom top ten is closed down by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the open-world action title with role-playing elements from Bethesda.
