14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian’s was married to Kris Humphries for just 72 days but in the process of divorcing him for almost a year and a half, mostly because he was asking for an annulment on the basis of fraud. The case has now been settled.
TMZ reports that a judge granted Kim the divorce only a few hours ago and, as expected, Kris walked away with absolutely nothing from the marriage.
Those keeping an eye on the proceedings must already know that, besides the annulment, Kris was also asking for $7 million (€5.3 million), which he said was his due share of money she’d made off the marriage, including from the wedding special, which aired on E!.
As part of the settlement, “Kris gets NO money from Kim,” TMZ confirms.
“Kris dropped his demand for an annulment based on fraud. Each party will pay their own attorney's fees,” the same media outlet writes.
In other words, Kim got exactly what she wanted: a divorce, Kris’ admission that the marriage was not a fraud, and the prenup they signed before tying the knot still held so he didn’t get any money from her.
“This is not just a settlement. It's a WIN for Kim and her lawyer, disso-queen Laura Wasser,” TMZ notes.
As of now, Kim is yet to issue a statement on her big win in court the other day, but she’s already been photographed out and about, with some media outlets saying she was “celebrating” her newfound freedom.
Kris hasn’t said anything on the topic either but, then again, he was never the talkative type – especially where his relationship with Kim was concerned. The NDA he signed must have had something to do with that.
Now that Kim is officially a single woman, her fans must be wondering whether she’ll be tying the knot with her current beau and baby daddy Kanye West.
