Killzone 3, one of the most important first person shooters to appear next year for the PlayStation 3, won't disappoint players that don't have access to new technologies like 3DTV sets or the PlayStation Move motion control system, at least according to its developer, Guerrilla Games.

Killzone 3 is shaping up to be one of the most technologically impressive games of the beginning of next year, as it allows players to experience it not only as a regular shooter, but also in 3D, provided you have a special TV set, and control it with the PlayStation Move, provided you have the new peripheral launched by Sony.

If you don't have these things, don't think your experience will be disappointing, as Guerrilla Games manager Herman Hulst recently declared that, while the new features augmented the game, it was still an impressive title without them.

"3D is a great feature, but it's an option to the game," he told 1UP. "I don't want people who don't have 3D to have a suboptimal experience.

"That said, if you play it in 3D... you see some of the cuts scenes and sequences in 3D, they look outstanding. They really pull you into the action. You're more than ever submerged.

"But we don't want to alienate the core audience," he added. "The same with Move. These things are options. They're great options. I think they're here to stay."

While 3D was implemented to add a new layer of depth to Killzone 3, support for PlayStation Move was added in order to make it more accessible to players that aren't used to playing shooters on consoles.

"We try to broaden it by implementing features like Move," he said. "And Move implemented in the gun peripheral. I think that brings in an audience that isn't necessarily familiar with the DualShock. It might be a PC gamer that's not used to the two analogue sticks. Sometimes it's more intuitive for people to have a Move-like control."

Killzone 3 is set to appear exclusively on the PlayStation 3 on February 22, in the USA, and on February 28, in Europe.
