Publisher Sony has announced that the Guerrilla Games developer Killzone 3 is set to get a special edition named after the main enemies seen in the game, the Helghast, which will arrive on the same date as the normal game and including a variety of extra content.

The Helghast Edition for Killzone 3 includes:

- a Helghast helmet replica that not only looks very good but also opens up in order to reveal the actual Killzone 3 copy, an art book and a Super Voucher; - an action figure of a Helghast Marksman with cloaking engaged, which will not be available at retail and has join articulations; - a bonus video feature which shows how Killzone 3 was created; - the Super Voucher can be used one time in order for the player to download the Killzone 3 soundtrack and the dynamic theme for the PlayStation 3, a Retro Map Pack with two multiplayer map from the previous game in the series, double XP gain in multiplayer for the first 24 hours and full access to all weapons and all abilities for the same period.

The full Killzone 3 Helghast Edition will set fans back 129.99 dollars.

Killzone 3 is set to arrive on February 22, 2011 in the United States and is exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

The game will follow the series protagonists as they are trapped on Helghast and under attack by various factions.

The game aims to offer more variety than its predecessors and more tactical freedom, with a jet pack added to offer players more options in firefights.

Sony has shown off Killzone 3 with support for both the Move motion tracking peripheral and with 3D gaming and hopes that the game will make hardcore PS3 users adopt both technologies.
