14 DAY TRIAL // Killzone 3, the newest first person shooter from Guerrilla Games exclusive to the PlayStation 3 is set to receive its third downloadable content pack later this week, entitled From the Ashes.
Killzone 3 impressed many gamers at the beginning of the year, thanks to its sharp graphics, refined gameplay and lots of variety, both in the single-player and the multiplayer modes.
Now, its developer, Guerrilla Games, is set to debut the third downloadable map pack for Killzone 3, called From the Ashes, which brings four new maps to the shooter, two for the Warzone multiplayer mode, and two for the Guerrilla Warfare one.
The developer's producer, Aryeh Loeb, released two videos about the two maps from each mode, called Lente Missile Base and Mobile Factory.
"Lente Missile Base is a Warzone map for 24 players set inside an abandoned missile base at the edge of the Kaznan Jungle. One of many outdated defense facilities abandoned after the discovery of nuclear Petrusite, Lente Base is slowly being reclaimed by Helghan’s strange plant life. But when warring ISA and Helghast forces stumble across the remains of the facility, they find that most of its systems are still operational. As both factions vie for control of the base, the facility begins firing its missiles – frying anyone caught in the underground exhaust vents…"
The second video that you can check out below is for the Mobile Factory map, designed specifically for the Guerrilla Warfare mode.
"Mobile Factory [is a] map for 16 players set aboard one of the largest vehicles from the single player campaign. Part resource production facility, part moving fortress, the Mobile Factory is a strategic asset that both factions desperately want to seize control of. Combatants need to watch their step, however, as a single mistake can cause them to plummet into the heavy duty scrap metal shredders at the bottom of the facility. Those looking to do some shredding of their own will be able to wield one of two portable miniguns found in the Mobile Factory."
The From the Ashes DLC for Killzone 3 will be released on June 21, in North America, for $4.99, and on June 22, in Europe and the rest of the world, for €4.99/£3.99. A special Killzone 3 DLC Bundle Pack will also be released, set to include the Retro pack, Steel Rain pack and the From the Ashes one, for the price of just $9.99/€9.99/£7.99.
