Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom had been dating for merely a month when they announced plans to get married, prompting much talk of a media stunt or a clear case of gold-digging on her behalf. Now legally married and with a prenup that settles all possible financial disputes between them in the eventuality of a divorce, the two have decided to mark their undying love with new ink, as Khloe herself reveals on her official webpage.

She is no stranger to tattoos, though, she tells her fans. She already has an “I Love You” on her wrist in her father’s name – the late attorney Kardashian who got O.J. Simpson out of jail and who passed away in 2003 – and another tattoo on her lower back, also in memory of her late father. Getting new ink to celebrate the joy of being Lamar’s wife was the next step, she says, although neither she nor the Los Angeles Lakers star planned beforehand.

“Hi dolls! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend... I definitely did! Saturday night Lamar and I were eating at Sunset Plaza and I just said, ‘Let’s go to Tattoo Mania! I want a tattoo!’ I think the best tattoo experiences are the spontaneous ones, because that way you are not only left with the tattoo, but an amazing memory to go along with it! I’m definitely a believer in tattoos as long as they are thoughtful and have significant meaning, which all of mine do. […] Now I have my husband’s initials ‘LO.’ Tattoos are something you’ll have for the rest of your life so it’s important to get one that truly means something to you.” Khloe writes on her page.

So, although a spontaneous thing, getting a tattoo with Lamar’s initials was by no means a reckless gesture as well, Khloe insists, because she truly wanted to celebrate the moment and immortalize it in ink on her hand. He, on the other hand, must have felt twice the urge she felt, as he had her initials, KO, tattooed on both his hands, Khloe reveals in the same post.

“When we were at dinner, I just knew I wanted a tattoo for Lamar in the web of my hand, and then once we got to the shop we decided on getting each other’s initials. I got ‘LO’ in cursive on my right hand and he got ‘KO’ on both hands. I love how my tattoo flows with the one I already have. It’s special to me, which is why I believe it’s worth it when it symbolizes something or someone that is important to you.” Khloe Kardashian, now legally Khloe Omar, writes.
