Keynote Systems, one of the world leaders in on-demand mobile and Internet test and measurement solutions, has announced the launch of their new product, the Keynote Mobile Device Perspective 4.0 designed especially for mobile application troubleshooting and monitoring. According to the company, the MDP solution can offer 24x7 monitoring on devices like Apple iPhone, Android G1, BlackBerry Curve and Nokia N95.

Along with the release of this new solution, Keynote has also increased the number of smartphones for their on-demand global test network. Also, the company has included a very useful add-on option called Mobile Device Perspective interactive (MDPi), which allows remote interactive troubleshooting and diagnosis through a desktop computer directly on the smartphone. This add-on will enable mobile operations and development teams to interact with the mobile applications on a specific smartphone, with instantaneous feedback on the screen.

"The explosion of smartphones and mobile applications has created a performance monitoring nightmare for businesses developing or delivering mobile content and applications," said Carl Howe, director, consumer research for Yankee Group. "Businesses have little time to monitor, troubleshoot and fix problems with their mobile apps to avoid bad customer experiences. Hosted services such as Keynote’s allow businesses to monitor the mobile application performance as seen by an end-user and to troubleshoot smartphone performance issues from their desktops. Timesaving services such as these can help IT operations teams improve mobile app performance and reduce downtime.”

Some of the targeted user groups for Mobile Device Perspective and the Mobile Device Perspective interactive add-on include: - Mobile Business Unit Owners and Managers – Companies with a dedicated mobile department will use Mobile Device Perspective 4.0 as a reliable and efficient platform for monitoring and troubleshooting - Network Operations Center – Support teams will be able to replicate issues reported by customers by remotely accessing devices connected to the network, and also establish the potential threats on other core services. - Mobile Enablers – MDP 4.0 will provide quick access to the rich media content mobilized, thus allowing a rapid investigation when needed.

The launch of the Mobile Device Perspective 4.0 has considerably increased the number of options available for testing and monitoring, and simplified these processes by excluding the extensive testing cases or management of large libraries of devices. Mobile Device Perspective (MDP) and Mobile Device Perspective interactive (MDPi) will be available in a wide variety of prices. The MDPi add-on can be tested free for 60 minutes here.
