14 DAY TRIAL // Britney Spears and longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick are engaged, as we also reported a few days ago. The news took fans by surprise, who had been waiting long to see Britney settle down again – even her ex-husband is happy she finally took this step.
Jason and Britney had been talking about marriage for a while before he popped the question to her over a surprise dinner in Las Vegas.
Understandably, both are thrilled at the idea of tying the knot at a yet unspecified date. So is Kevin Federline, Britney's second husband and the father of her two adorable boys.
Speaking from the set of Australian weight loss reality show “Excess Baggage” to TV Week, Federline says he's happy Britney has finally found her Mr. Right.
Moreover, he knows Jason and he knows he's good to Britney and, just as important, to her two kids.
“I'm really happy for her – I think he's a great guy. She's happy; she's doing really well. I want to say she's in a good place,” Kevin tells the publication.
“I haven't spoken to her much since I've been over here – both of us have been busy with her being on tour – but I do know from talking to the kids and talking to the kids' teachers that they're doing really good. It's a good step in the right direction. I'm totally happy for her,” the former backup dancer adds.
After the very public meltdown that Britney went through some years ago, shortly after her divorce from Federline, Kevin hoped she would find a man that would make her happy again, since he had clearly failed at it.
Now, he too has found happiness again in the arms of Victoria, who has just given him another child, his fifth.
“Victoria's the best person in the world. It took me going through the things that I went through to find a person like her. She's more than I could ever have hoped for. Hopefully Britney feels the same way,” Kevin muses.
As for Jason, he has nothing but wonderful words about him: he's a great step-father and a great influence on Britney who, after years of turmoil, needed some stability in her life.
“He's a really good guy – I've heard a lot about him. I've spoken to him quite a few times as of now. He seems like a really good guy. The kids speak highly of him [and] her family loves him,” he says.
As we also informed you a while back, Kevin is now in Australia in yet another bid to lose the extra weight he gained immediately after the divorce from Britney.
