Star goes on book tour, says she can’t afford to diet right now

In December 2009, former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, Kendra Wilkinson, gave birth to her first child, a baby boy. While still pregnant, the reality star and glamour model gained weight, which is normal. However, unlike other celebrities, she did not rush to lose the extra pounds in the first couple of months as a new mom, but chose to take her time, enjoy her new body and work at it gradually.

Part of this process is her going on a break from dieting right now, People magazine informs, citing a recent interview of Kendra on Ryan Seacrest. Kendra is now promoting her own book and, as such, she’s doing a tour across the US. Because she has to make deadlines and be in as many places as possible in as little time as possible, she can’t possibly afford to keep the same schedule (workout and dieting) as she did before she started the promo tour, she says.

“Kendra Wilkinson’s battle to get her pre-baby body back has been ongoing since giving birth to her son Hank Baskett IV in December 2009. But the E! reality star, who has gone back and forth between loving her new figure and longing for her former shape, has put dieting on hold for now. ‘It’s so hard because I was on this book tour, and… doing a book tour, you’re all over the country and you have to catch flights and everything,’ Wilkinson told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning. ‘So I actually took a break from my diet. I’m on my gaining weight part now.’ But things aren’t slowing down for new author Wilkinson and her football player husband Hank Baskett anytime soon. The happily married couple is in the process of moving back to Philadelphia,” People writes.

Of course, knowing that she’s about to gain a few pounds again probably doesn’t scare Kendra, since she long made peace with the idea that she has a fuller figure now. She was initially shocked of her curves after she gave birth but, in time, she came to realize she must focus not on losing weight, but on keeping herself and her baby healthy. So, she started working out more and she took all unhealthy foods from her menu, but she did not go on a diet per se. What’s important though is for her to be happy about her looks – and that she is.

“My plan is to not go back to my original size. I’m just working with the body I have now. And I want to keep the hips. I want to keep that hourglass shape. I think that’s so much [hotter]. Dance is a huge thing. If you want to lose weight and have fun, just dance,” Kendra said in an older interview, as we also informed you at the time.
