BioShock Infinite is already shaping up to be one of the most interesting video games of 2012 and the leader of developer Irrational Games, Ken Levine, has stated that all of the important decisions about the video game are made by him personally.

Speaking to Joystiq the well known developer stated, “I love the fact that we sit down and chat with each other but at the end of the day this thing’s gotta be my decision.”

He also talked about how he needs to have hands-on control when it comes to how BioShock evolves in the video game world while also being able to let go when the franchise is moving to other mediums, like it will do with an upcoming movie.

He added, “If I were to make a game that was based on somebody else’s franchise, you need somebody there who’s going to say, ‘This is true to the franchise, this isn’t true to the franchise.’ So that was more my role in the film.”

Levine also compared his role to that of a editor at a high profile magazine who is also, from time to time, allowed to spend some time with a text editor in order to contribute his own texts to one edition.

BioShock Infinite will take the player out of the sea and away from Rapture and will deliver them to the sky based island of Columbia, where he will play an ex-member of the Pinkerton detective agency who is searching for a mysterious little girl called Elizabeth, who has special powers.

She is able to open portals to what seem alternate realities, some of them linked to our own version of reality and some to others that are slightly different, and can also hold her own in combat situations.

Infinite will be delivered on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
