14 DAY TRIAL // Kelly Rowland is officially off the market. Technically, she’s been so ever since she confirmed she was engaged to boyfriend / manager Tim Witherspoon in December last year, but confirmation comes that she is now legally spoken for: she and Tim got married last week.
The singer tied the knot in a super secret ceremony on Friday, in Costa Rica, surrounded just by members of the family and very close friends. Beyonce was there too, probably acting as a bridesmaid, considering a photo of herself she posted on her social media accounts, wearing what looks like a bridesmaid’s dress.
Us Weekly confirms the wedding took place with various sources close to Kelly. An official confirmation from her publicist is still pending at the time of writing. Unfortunately, this means we have very little details to go on right now.
“It was a quick, simple ceremony – only around 30 people,” says one such source of the festivities.
The photo Beyonce posted to her Instagram, on the morning of the big day, in which she’s believed to be wearing a bridesmaid’s dress, suggests a beach ceremony. After all, what could be more romantic than to tie the knot in such an exotic location, preferably at sunset?
Considering that, as Kelly herself said in December, they had been “keeping it low key for years, actually,” such an intimate and romantic ceremony makes sense.
Congratulations are definitely in order for the happy couple. Meanwhile, though, Beyonce is unknowingly stealing her thunder because of the leaked video from the surveillance camera inside an elevator at the MET Gala 2014, which captured images of a very furious Solange physically and verbally attacking Jay Z.
Kelly’s wedding took place last Friday, on May 9, which means it happened mere days from this violent episode: the MET Ball was the Monday before last, on May 5.
The same media outlet says that Beyonce and Solange “jetted off in a private plane together” for the wedding, and there are reports that Solange too was bridesmaid. What this means is that, no matter what happened between Solange and Jay in that elevator, Beyonce is still on good terms with her.
Speaking of which, there are countless reports saying that Solange was somehow “defending” Beyonce, which would explain why the latter didn’t intervene in the fight. The fact that they traveled together as if nothing had happened would support that theory.
