Internet sensation Rebecca Black doesn’t make just a simple cameo in Katy Perry’s new video for “Last Friday Night (TGIF),” as speculated before: she’s actually the main star after Katy herself. Check out the video below.

After lots of teasing her fans with everything from a YouTube channel made especially for her alter-ego in the video, to a 30-second teaser that came out last week, Katy has finally unveiled her latest creation to the world.

Filled with neon colors and fashion of the kind we could only see in the ‘80s (for the very good reason that this is when the video is set), “Last Friday Night” could be seen as an ode to the spirit of youth, high school life and, of course, partying on the weekends like there’s no tomorrow.

Still, that’s not all that makes this video special, even though the sight of Katy in braces and Betty La Fea glasses would suffice: countless stars have agreed to appear in it, as PopEater also underlines.

Of them, Rebecca is the least most famous but, to her credit, she gets most onscreen time.

“Perry’s booze-laced fantasies are also laced with gnarly celebrity cameos – from Hanson jamming in the backyard, to Kenny G’s super sax-y rooftop solo, to pivotal roles played by ‘Friday’ singer Rebecca Black and ‘Glee’ star Kevin McHale,” PopEater says.

The video starts with Katy at her most nerdy looking, waking up to find the house a mess and, to cap it all off, a hunk sleeping in her bed.

She barely recalls anything that happened the night before but she finds pictures of it online – and, as it turns out, she’s quite the party animal.

Flashback to the night before, a Friday night, of course: Perry meets Rebecca Black, who is having a party. She gets a full makeover and then gets to let her inner non-geek party animal run loose, in a way that even her parents approve of at the end of the clip.

Running for over 8 minutes, the video also includes credits at the end, which makes it look even more like a short film, a comedy from the ‘80s.

Check it out below and, as usual, enjoy.
