Amidst reports that she’s sold fabricated stories to the tabs to keep her name in the media and talk of friction with the other X Factor contestants, hopeful Katie Waissel emerges as the most unpopular contestant ever to be on the show.

Ever since she made it through the judges’ house stage, Katie’s name has often been in the headlines because many believed she should have been sent home instead of Gamu Nhengu.

Shortly after, reports of a romance in the X Factor house emerged but, as it turned out, there was no truth to them, with some even believing Katie herself fed them to the press.

Right now, word has it that Waissel is having a very hard time in the house with the rest of the contestants since she can’t seem to bond with them because they don’t like her.

All in all, she seems to be in the running for the title of the most unpopular X Factor hopeful ever, the Daily Mail believes.

“Miss Waissel, from Pinner, North-West London, was already a target for X Factor devotees after it emerged she had a record deal in the US when she first auditioned for the show,” the Mail writes.

“She then caused uproar after reaching the final stages at the expense of viewers’ favorite Gamu Nhengu,” the publication says. Katie has already said that she didn’t take Gamu’s place because she was competing with everybody else, not just Gamu.

“Fans were yesterday flooding internet forums with angry messages, one labelling Miss Waissel ‘desperate’,” the same publication reports.

“Some contestants are also said to think she was behind a story suggesting she enjoyed a fling with Matt Cardle, favorite to win the competition. Both have agreed their evening had been less romantic than suggested,” says the Mail.

However, all this has made the public and her fellow contestants not like Katie. In fact, the latter are actually open about their dislike of her, calling her “Katie Weasel” and refusing to speak to her anymore.

Katie’s own mother is not doing anything to help defuse the conflict; on the contrary, she’s been talking to the press, explaining how, if there’s a problem between Cher Lloyd and her daughter, it’s all because of Cher.

“[Katie]’s very diplomatic – if she was in a situation, she would walk away. She’s all about karma. She doesn’t like bad karma. But you’re talking about two different people. One’s 24 and one’s 17. I think you learn how to handle things in life the older you get,” Katie’s mom said the other day, as per the same report in the Daily Mail.
