Kate Gosselin confirmed for 10th season of Dancing With the Stars, stars March 22

Kate Gosselin hinted a while back, when she put in an appearance on Jay Leno, that she would love to be asked to do Dancing With the Stars, even though she was a very bad dancer and would probably make a fool of herself. This year brings the 10th season of the televised competition and, as MTV can confirm, Mrs. Gosselin will get to see her dream come true.

The official lineup for 2010 has been announced and, as speculated the other day, Kate Gosselin will also be trying on her dancing shoes, as also will Pamela Anderson and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Unlike in previous editions, this season is extremely interesting because of the celebrities producers managed to bring on board and this will certainly translate into a boost in ratings, it’s being said.

“The newly divorced reality star and mother of eight, Kate, 34, has fueled so many tabloid reports that she’s as recognizable to supermarket shoppers as Aunt Jemima. Now, she’ll be talked about for her dancing skills or – according to her – lack thereof. Will Jon be doing some heavy-duty babysitting on his own this season?” MTV writes of Kate. Of Nicole Scherzinger, the same outlet says, “Best known as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, the 31-year-old Scherzinger would seem to have a natural advantage on DWTS due to her extensive singing/dancing work. Now that her bandmates are moving on and she’s strapping on her dancing shoes, could this indicate that the Pussycat Dolls have made their last meow?”

Watching Pamela Anderson in tight, minuscule outfits will be almost as interesting as seeing her try maintain her balance given her internationally famous implants, the e-zine adds. “The veteran actress/ model/ Borat abduction target, 42, will soon be adding competitive dancing to her résumé. Rumors of America’s favorite Canadian lifeguard joining the cast have been swirling around the Internet for quite sometime, but now that it has been confirmed, we can all breathe easy and start explore a different topic: how Pam will keep her balance on the dance floor considering her famously oversized, ahem, assets,” MTV says.

The other contestants include football player Chad Ochocinco, former “Beverly Hills 90210” actress Shannen Doherty, figure skater Evan Lysacek, sports reporter Erin Andrews, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, soap opera star Aiden Turner, comedienne Niecy Nash and reality star Jake Pavelka. The 10th season of the show kicks off on March 22 so keep an eye on this space to hear how Kate Gosselin, Pamela Anderson and the other contestants are doing.
