14 DAY TRIAL // It's war between Kat Von D and Jesse James. Just months ago, they were still happily engaged, planning a wedding and, as per their own words, happier than ever. Today, they're fighting over who gets to keep the engagement ring.
When Jesse popped the question to Kat, he didn't do so empty-handed, but with a diamond and platinum Neil Lane vintage-looking ring, for which he paid $50,000 (€37,299.5).
The latest print issue of Star Magazine (story via here) claims the bauble has now become the apple of Discord between the two, who were already not seeing eye to eye that much.
Basically, Jesse wants the ring back but Kat won't oblige him.
As Jesse sees it, Star writes, he's entitled to the ring since the wedding didn't go through and they ended their engagement.
Kat disagrees: having tried so hard to make the relationship work, she believes she should get to keep the sparkler as some form of compensation for all her troubles.
What's worse is that Kat is even using the media and social networks to get more people on her side, by dishing embarrassing details about Jesse, Star claims.
“Jesse James is furious with Kat Von D over her recent public claims that he cheated on her with 19 women during their relationship,” says Star.
“But behind the scenes, an insider tells Star, he and his ex-fiancee have already declared war over the $50,000, four-carat platinum and diamond Neil Lane engagement ring he bought her last January,” the report further notes.
A source close to James confirms this, saying that he is quite mad that she would behave like this, especially when she had no right to keep the ring once the engagement was over.
“Now that he and Kat are totally broken up, Jesse wants the ring back. The money he paid for it obviously isn’t going to make or break him, but Jesse’s always been a tightwad,” the insider dishes.
Kat, on the other hand, won't even hear of it.
“She won’t return the ring to Jesse, and she’s not budging. She says she deserves it for putting up with him!” the same tipster dishes.
