14 DAY TRIAL // Kat Von D and Jesse James were supposed to be married this summer, after getting engaged in January this year. They recently announced they were no longer together – and a new episode from her reality show offers a clear indication of the heartbreak she must be going through right now.
As the video below will confirm, at the time she and James broke up, Kat was designing (or had already finished designing) her dress for the big day.
The clip from TLC’s “LA Ink” shows the celebrity tattoo artist with two of her designer friends, sitting at a table and talking about Kat’s upcoming fashion collection, with her pointing out her favorites from the line.
At one point, Kat finds the opening to make a personal request: she’d like her friends to lend her a hand in designing her wedding gown.
“When I got married to my first husband we just eloped, I got married in my jeans. I don’t want to have a dress that anyone else could have,” Kat says of how she came up with the idea to design her own dress, with some help.
She says she and Jesse want to make the wedding “really special” and it’s clear that she’s excited about it. At the same time, she’s surprised that her friends don’t rush to promise they will help her.
“I thought you guys would be more excited,” she says with tears in her eyes.
In the end, the two designers agree to listen Kat out before making a decision, though they do warn her beforehand that they’re very busy and, most importantly, creating wedding gowns is not their specialty.
Kat instantly opens her “wedding folder” and shows them two dresses of very different styles, saying the second one is her favorite because she too would like something “really organic and flowing and not structured at all” for her own dress.
The video ends with the two designer friends promising to think this through – and Kat saying that she doesn’t know what she’d do if they turned her down. Check it out below.
