14 DAY TRIAL // More than once, they tried to silence critics by saying they would never include aspects of their personal life – their romance, in particular – on her reality show. The new promo for season five of “LA Ink” will show Kat Von D’s engagement to Jesse James.
As voices in the blogosphere point out, this is not about to make rumors of how fame-hungry they both are go away anytime soon. Quite on the contrary.
The new promo focuses mostly on the changes in Kat’s life and how she and her boyfriend Jesse, Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband, are struggling to make their relationship work.
Video of it is here, over at People magazine, and confirms, beyond any doubt, that Kat will put her romantic life on display for entertainment value.
“Their romance played out online and in magazines – and now Jesse James and Kat Von D's relationship will be televised,” People writes.
“On season 5 of LA Ink, which premieres July 28 (10 p.m. ET), viewers will see the tattoo artist, 29, become engaged to her soul mate, James, 42,” adds the magazine.
For a few brief seconds, we see Kat jumping up and screeching with joy about getting engaged, and then stressing that she really doesn’t care what haters have to say about her, about Jesse or about the two together as an item.
“[It’s] a long distance relationship, but we’re just making it work,” she says of how they handle being apart for most of the time.
“I feel like I’m the luckiest girl. I don’t care what anyone thinks,” she adds a short while later.
In the same preview, Kat is shown addressing rumors in the press about her relationship to Jesse, whether she’s pregnant or not, or plans for moving to Austin, Texas to be with him around the clock.
“This season will also follow Von D’s successful gallery opening, her charity work and a major fire that burnt down her Los Angeles home,” People says in reference to what fans of her show may expect in the next season.
