Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that the center piece of their global ad campaign for the upcoming FIFA 11 is Kaka, the midfielder of Real Madrid and star of Brazil. At 28 years old the players has reached the peak of his form and EA Sports will use him to promote their new football simulation, with another 17 football star from all around the world chosen to accompany him at promotion events and on official covers. In the United Kingdom, the birth place of football, Kaka will be joined by Wayne Rooney, the England star who appears on the cover for the sixth year in a row.

Matt Bilbey, the vice president of football games at EA Sports, stated, “Kaka brings passion, imagination and individual flair to the game every time on the pitch. He perfectly illustrates a new feature in FIFA 11 called Personality+ that sees a player’s individual ability reflected in game, enabling clear differentiation for every player. With Kaka’s visionary style of football he’s always one step ahead of the opposition, moving into space with an often subtle change of pace and delivering crisp, creative one-touch passes and catching the goalkeepers off guard with strikes often from distance on either foot. His play is unlike any other player in our game and you will feel individual differences like this in each player, in every match.”

Kaka himself added, “I’ve always been a fan of EA SPORTS and especially the FIFA series. Being on the FIFA 11 cover is a great honor for me since very few players have this opportunity, and there have been some great footballers featured on the cover of this truly amazing football game.”

FIFA 11 is coming with a variety of improvements, the center piece being the new Personality+ concept, which makes virtual players behave like their real life counterparts on the pitch. FIFA 11 is set to be released on September 28 and will arrive on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3, the PS2 and the PlayStation Portable from Sony, the Nintendo Wii and DS and the PC.
