Solutions appear for any needs, or so it seems. Jott is a service that allows you to send SMS messages or emails without having to type them. At first, it may seem a bit odd having someone else to write text messages for you, but there is a great number of situations when it can prove to be a quite handy solution.

It's an extremely ingenious idea especially for those on the go that do not have enough time to type what they have to send in text format. It is also a solution for those driving but who have a handsfree device available in order to talk over their mobile phones. Even more, it comes in the aid of the less happy ones that own an exquisitely elegant and fancy phone that is equipped with a keypad next to impossible to handle when it comes to writing text messages.

Jott works quite easy. All you have to do is register by providing a phone number and email address. After that, you create a list of people you're most likely to want to contact. Then, whenever you need, you can call Jott and leave a voice message after the beep. Note that the recording can be of only 30 seconds in length. The Jott service then automatically transcribes the recording into an email or SMS and immediately sends it.

The Jott system is created by former Microsoft executive and is currently free. A beta version that offers a longer recording time will most probably be available in exchange for a small fee. The standard version is supported by offering advertising space to other companies. For now, Jott it is available only in Canada and US, but will most probably expand to Europe in no time.
