They’ve long been tabloid fodder, as their romance supposedly started when Jon Gosselin was not yet officially separated from now-estranged wife Kate Gosselin. Yet both Hailey Glassman and Jon himself have repeatedly stated the contrary, insisting it was true love what they had. Whether that has changed might very well be the case, as Extra has learned the two are officially taking a break from the relationship.

The report comes on the heels of Glassman doing a two-part special interview with The Insider in which she revealed that Gosselin was what one might call emotionally abusive to her. However, one should note, Jon did state only hours after the interview aired that he was one hundred percent supportive of his girlfriend, even promising he would do something about his behavior in the future. Nevertheless, sources claim the breakup had nothing to do with this.

“Jon Gosselin has split from Hailey Glassman, ‘Extra’ has exclusively learned. ‘They’re taking a break,’ an insider told ‘Extra,’ adding that it may not be permanent. After meeting with famed Rabbi Shmuley Boteach (who also advised Michael Jackson) for regular study sessions and counseling, Gosselin ‘apparently decided he needed to spend some time on his own,’ the source says.” Extra writes.

This is not the first time that the two decide they need some time apart in order to get things in their life back in order, the same e-zine further says. “Gosselin, 32, and Glassman, 22, first got close in May when Jon stayed with her father, plastic surgeon Lawrence Glassman (who once performed a free tummy tuck for Jon’s estranged wife, Kate), in New York. The two claim they didn’t become romantically involved until the Gosselins filed for divorce in June.” says Extra.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is, from what reports have it, part of the “spiritual advisors” team Jon Gosselin recently hired to help him decide what he should do next both in terms of his career and his personal life. As far as the former is concerned, said team urged him to turn down an offer for a reality show with none other than OctoMom Nadya Suleman on the grounds that they’re getting a “bad vibe” about it, as we also informed you the other day.
