14 DAY TRIAL // Michael Lohan, the legally troubled father of actress and socialite Lindsay Lohan, seems to have become Jon Gosselin’s latest spokesperson. Although this is not to be taken too literally, since it’s nothing official, Lohan took it upon himself to set a couple of things straight as regards Gosselin’s personal life in a recent interview with People magazine.
As we all know, the Gosselin drama continues to unfold in plain sight, with cameras still rolling and the newspaper headlines almost writing themselves in some cases. With Jon moving out of the house and past his failed marriage to Kate, with whom he became famous for the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” it seems he now has a lot on his plate, and not strictly from a personal point of view, where he has to tackle two female “friends,” but also on a professional level.
With speculation building up that Jon will be getting his own reality show once the joint one is over and done with, Lohan would like to address the public as regards Jon’s intentions with Kate and the eight children they have together. Because family, Lindsay’s father explains, comes before everything else for Jon. “He would love to be friends with her [Kate Gosselin]. They had eight kids and he would like to work things out the right way and just be friends.” Lohan, who has been showing Jon around the Hamptons and going out a couple of times, tells People.
Speaking of career plans, word emerged yesterday that Gosselin was thinking of continuing with reality television, since it was a profession that paid well and kept him on the map at the same time. A reality series just for him is already being shopped around town, speculation has it, although Jon is still bound to TLC for another 30 of the 40 episodes the network ordered of “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” Because of this minor setback, he can’t yet go ahead with his plans.
“Jon has a lot of things going on now with his career. Of course his main concern is his children, but he is focusing on his private and his professional life. He is looking into some major international endorsement deals and it looks like he is going to have his own show.” an unnamed source was telling the media just the other day.
