Jon Gosselin, once the better half of “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” is looking for a fresh start in life. That includes a new career – but still in reality television –, looking for a soul mate and, why not, regaining some of the popularity he once enjoyed with the public. To symbolize this new beginning, Mr. Gosselin has chosen a Korean dragon, which he had tattooed on his back, as Radar Online can confirm.

Though Jon is not really the tattoo type of guy, and especially not the type to have such a large piece done on his back, he says the decision to get the dragon was many years in the making. In light of some recent soul searching, he realized that getting the new ink would be the perfect symbol for the life he’s preparing to start. The dragon stands for re-birth and the circle of life and, implicitly, a new start for the reality star that has fallen out of grace since his divorce from Kate Gosselin.

“Jon Gosselin wants to start over, so he’s got a new manager, a life coach and oh yeah, a new gigantic tattoo of a dragon on his back! Radar Online has exclusively obtained the first photos of the former reality TV star’s new body art, including pictures of the work in progress. The 33-year-old ex-husband of Kate Gosselin says he has been doing some soul searching and got the tattoo to signify changes he is making to his life,” the aforementioned paparazzi agency writes. Indeed, the pictures confirm that the dragon body art is actually pretty huge.

“I have planned this tattoo for years now. I wanted something that resembled a rebirth or a change in me. The dragon is all encompassing. It has all parts of the zodiac,” Jon tells Radar in an interview. “The tattoo was designed at Never Say Die Tattoo parlor in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Jon’s first session was three weeks ago for six hours, the second took place a week ago and it was eight hours long. The proud papa says he showed his eight children the tattoo, and ‘they love it and think it’s cool!’” Radar writes.

Also part of Jon’s re-birth is hiring a new manager, Canaan Rubin, who tells Radar that the tattoo stands for Jon’s realizing it was time for a change and for improvement; in other words, for starting over. Mr. Gosselin has enlisted the services of a life coach as well, who will presumably help him make the most of what he’s been given in order to build a new life for himself.
