Jessica Simpson is reportedly trying to score an endorsement deal with a weight loss company

Jessica Simpson may have grown tired of being the posterchild for curves, judging by a new report. The singer and reality star has decided to endorse one of the biggest weight loss programs out there in a bid to get back in shape.

Though she’s repeatedly said in the past she was happy with the body she had, whether it was stick thin or more on the curvy side, a new report suggests Jessica may have decided to make a change in the new year.

And a buck on the side, as well, it would seem.

The National Enquirer says in the latest print issue (story via here) that Simpson is set to win the battle against the bulge by enrolling in one of those popular weight loss programs, like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig.

Of course, she wouldn’t be doing it for free, because she’ll endorse the product and her weight loss will be duly documented in the media, for the fans.

“Jessica Simpson is lining up a new weapon in her ongoing battle of the bulge – the blonde beauty has set her sights on an endorsement deal with a major weight-loss company,” the Enquirer writes.

Not only will she be back to her trimmer self this way, but she will also make money, while her public profile will receive a considerable boost. She wouldn’t be the first celebrity to do it, either.

“Jessica, who has been adding weight in recent months, packed on another 10 pounds over the holidays. She’s now up to about 140 pounds, says a source close to her, and Jessica wants to follow in the footsteps of Valerie Bertinelli and Jennifer Hudson, who transformed their bodies while becoming diet spokespersons,” the tab writes.

The Enquirer goes on to quote an unnamed (but admittedly reliable) source, saying that another reason for doing this would be inspiring other women to make a positive change about themselves as well.

“Jessica’s convinced that becoming an endorser for a company like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers or Slim-Fast is her ticket to success,” says the spy, describing the endorsement deal as a “win-win situation.”

Plus, she’ll be getting married later this year and needs to be at slimmer to look her best in the wedding gown.

“Jessica loves inspiring women, and she thinks working for a weight-loss and diet company would help reconnect her with her core audience,” adds the insider.
