Jessica Simpson is making her return to the small screen with a brand new television show called “The Price of Beauty.” The fresh series sees the singer traveling the world with an entourage, which also includes hair stylist and best friend Ken Paves, and analyzing how women in different countries live up to modern standards of beauty. Given the topic of the show, talk about her own body and how much confidence she has in it was bound to come up, as Us Magazine points out.

Speaking on Barbara Walters’ Sirius XM radio show, Jessica Simpson revealed that she was no longer fidgeting over her weight and whether other people considered her too plump or not, as she used to do in the past. She’s now in a place where she’s more confident and, most importantly, more forgiving on her body. This, in turn, brings her closer to what men expect from a woman in real life, Jessica believes.

“I know that men like their curves. I always say ‘I’ll give them something to grab onto’.” Jessica says in the interview. As for how she maintains her figure, the singer reveals it’s a combination of portion control, working out and generally leading a healthy lifestyle. “I don’t diet. I used to count calories. I watch what I eat, but I also let myself indulge. I could probably lose weight and still be healthy. But I don’t obsess about it anymore,” the star further says.

“I think people are looking at what models look like. I am not a model. I am 5-foot-3. I don’t look like a model. That is not my profession,” Simpson further says. “Women dress more for other women. I think that they want to be in shape more for other women. I want a man to look at me and think I look good,” the singer adds with her newly-found confidence. As fans will remember, a few months back, Simpson was the talk of the town for gaining some weight, with a handful of media outlets even going as far as to call her “fat” in their headlines.

Since then, though, the star has come a long way, as she noted in other recent interviews as well. She no longer tries to fit industry’s standards of beauty or “thin,” having made peace with her curvy self and realized that what matters is on the inside and doesn’t have to do with physical appearance. So the idea for her show was born.
