For a very long while, back in the days when the dog-as-accessory trend was just picking up, Jessica Simpson and her maltipoo, Daisy, were practically inseparable. In September this year, Daisy was snatched by a coyote and was never heard of again, as Jessica herself announced on her Twitter page. Now, she’s using the same channel to beg people to stop making fun of her, as People magazine informs.

At first, Jessica was so upset about Daisy’s disappearance, that she even hired a firm to help her find the dog, despite the fact that many warned her that chances of Daisy still being alive were close to none. In time, the singer gave up on the search and, as per her own admission, tried to learn to live her life without her companion. That was until days ago, when she started receiving calls related to Daisy sightings.

Jessica Simpson is upset and she wants the pranksters to know it. It’s cruel and uncalled for to call someone up just to torment them over something that should have been history by now, she says in her more recent Twitter post. “People have been contacting my family and friends saying that Daisy has been found. Untrue. People are so cruel. Please respect her memory.” Simpson writes for the pranksters who fail to see that losing Daisy was indeed for Simpson like losing a family member.

The Daisy incident is just the latest to occur in Simpson’s life. First, there was the criticism surrounding her weight gain, then Tony Romo breaking up with her and the ensuing speculations in the media, then talk of Jessica seeking solace in drinking to get over the bad breakup. Jessica’s attempts at launching a career in country music had backfired, she was still working on revitalizing her television career and launching a lingerie line – in short, the kind of pressure and media scrutiny she was under was huge.

When Daisy was taken by the coyote, Jessica Simpson was not in a good place in her life, several US publications point out, so it’s only understandable that she be this upset that people are pulling pranks at her expense.
