Jessica Simpson is preparing to release her second holiday album to date, simply called “Happy Christmas.” She premiered the first single off it, “My Only Wish,” on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, as AceShowbiz can confirm.

After last year’s attempts at launching a career in country music, which saw Jessica dropped by her label because her first material of the kind did not perform according to expectations, Jessica took some time off from the music industry.

She’s planning to make a comeback this holiday season with a full Christmas album – and fans can get a fresh taste of it by checking out the video below, of “My Only Wish.”

Reviews for the track are already in and they’re mostly positive. Most of them call the track very lively and quite festive as well, definitely a great vehicle for Simpson’s comeback.

Fans, though, are not that convinced: on YouTube, for instance, countless voices are saying Simpson is trying to copy Mariah Carey (who, incidentally, also has a Christmas album right now) and her “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

In the same interview with Ryan Seacrest, Simpson also revealed that she was now signed to Ellen DeGeneres’ newly founded record label ElevenEleven, which also signed boy wonder and Internet sensation Greyson Chance.

“This (album) is different because it’s under my complete control. It’s the first record that I’m putting out on ElevenEleven Records which is my new record company,” Jessica said.

“I think it’s great to have a spiritual record out there to be my first record because that’s how I got start in the business anyway,” Simpson added when asked about why she chose not to continue making country music and switching to holiday music instead.

Also during the same interview, Simpson answered questions about former husband’s engagement news, saying she was “extremely, extremely happy” for him and soon to be wife Vanessa Minnillo.

“I am extremely, extremely happy for him. I couldn’t be more happy for Nick. I don’t know where all those rumors came from. My mom actually called me and told me that everybody was saying that I was ‘saddened’,” the singer told Ryan.

“And I was just in complete shock. You know, our relationship was over a really long time ago, so it would be nice if everybody could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I wish them nothing but the best,” she added.
