While preparing to launch a movie based on a video game with Prince of Persia, Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer is also making two actual video titles at his game studio, which was put together more than two years ago. He refused to provide any actual detail about the two projects, but he said that, “We've started developing them. We've got two really talented executives working on them.”

The Jerry Bruckheimer Games Studio hired Jim Veevaert, who is a former executive producer working on Halo 3, and Jay Cohen, who has previous experience working at French publisher Ubisoft. Each of the two is probably working on one project and, considering that work has been going on for about two years, it might be nice to hear some actual details about the video games they are producing.

Jerry Bruckheimer also mentioned that the new Prince of Persia movie would try to tell a story based on the title, while adding more drama, saying, “It's kind of a Shakespearean story we tell about these three brothers. One grew up on the streets and gets adopted by the king because in those days, when you had sons, they were inclined to assassinate the father to become king.” The movie is set to be released on May 28 and will star Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince, alongside Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.

Ubisoft is also working on a new Prince of Persia videogame, which will be released on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii, the PC, the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS on May 18, in North America, and three days later in Europe. The story will be set in the space between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within and will see a Prince who gains some elemental powers in addition to his abilities centered on The Sands of Time, as he tries to save an ancient kingdom from total destruction.
