Earlier this week, word got out in the media that “Ghost Whisperer” star Jennifer Love Hewitt broke up with boyfriend of almost one year Jamie Kennedy, who also stars in the same television series. In a new interview with People magazine, the actress confirms the breakup, while also revealing that she’s terrified about the idea of being single again but is not losing hope of finding true love.

The irony of it all is that the split comes right after Hewitt launched her first book ever, “The Day I Shot Cupid: Hello, My Name is Jennifer Love Hewitt and I’m a Love-aholic.” Without claiming to be an expert, with it, the actress offers fans advice on topics as varied as possible, including how to deal with breakups, how to find real love and how to turn things around for a happy life. Having broken up with Jamie doesn’t mean she no longer believes in her book, Hewitt now says, though she does feel a bit nervous about being on her own again.

“I don’t like to go out to clubs and party. I’m not into ‘Let’s go out with one guy on a Monday and another guy on a Wednesday’ – that’s just not me. I’m a relationship kind of girl. I like a twosome. Some people get excited about being single. I don’t. [It was] a mutual decision, and we’ve parted as friends. There’s no anger, there’s no upset, there’s no enemies. It’s been totally fine. It’s really a testament to who he is and to who I am. We’re both grown-ups,” the actress explains for People.

“Back in the shark tank! I never said in the book that I knew how to be in the perfect relationship. I say in my book I want to be the readers’ kind spirit out in the dating world. And now, more than ever, I am. I want to be an independent woman who falls in love, finds a great partner for her lifetime, has kids and kind of does it all. I’d like to have it all,” the star goes on to say, adding that perhaps it is the perfect time to pick up her own book and re-read it.

Jennifer Love Hewitt intents to leave the chapter Jamie Kennedy wrote especially for her in the recently launched book. She also plans to learn from her experience and, if possible, to turn it into something good, something from which her fans too can benefit. With this in mind, she’s already started work on a follow-up, which should be out sometime next year, at the earliest.
