14 DAY TRIAL // They were, for almost a year, one of the most open couples in showbiz, always working the red carpet together and speaking about how happy they were to have started dating. However, “Ghost Whisperer” co-stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy have ended their relationship and are moving on, People magazine writes.
Still, there’s no drama behind the breakup, despite the fact that rumors that their romance was on the rocks first started to circulate a few months back. The split seems to have come about naturally, as their relationship simply ran its course, unnamed spies tell the aforementioned magazine. For what it’s worth, the two remain close friends despite no longer being an item, the sources add.
“Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy have split, but the Ghost Whisperer costars are saving the drama for the small screen. A source close to the couple insists there was no infidelity or other smoking gun behind their breakup, and says it was a mutual decision by two people who remain friends,” People informs. The relationship had simply come to a standstill, so the two stars simply decided to go about their different paths.
“It wasn’t contentious. It had kind of just run its course… They just sort of looked at each other and said, ‘We like each other and we make each other laugh, but this isn’t for the long-term’,” one source reveals. Different schedules might have also had a say in the decision to call it quits. “She’s working constantly, and Jamie’s working on the show and touring [with his stand-up comedy act]. It just isn’t conducive to a relationship,” the spy adds.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, for one, has her plate full for the time being, the actress preparing for the launch of her book this March. Called “The Day I Shot Cupid,” the book sees Love offering advice to her fans and readers on love, relationships and, most importantly, how to deal with breakups and heartbreak.
