Fans and critics alike seem to love Jennifer Lawrence in equal measure, so it’s not really that surprising to see that everything she does or says instantly makes international headlines. The other night, she unveiled a much shorter haircut at the GLAAD Media Awards 2013.

The fans seem to love it, judging by their comments on various online forums but, then again, so does the media.

“J. Law has made a major change since we saw her last: She cut her hair! Lawrence's new short hairstyle features a sideswept, shaggy fringe fanning around her round face,” the Huffington Post, for one, writes.

“She warms up the new 'do with honey-colored highlights that complement her tanned skin tone well. Wavy layers lend an unkempt feel for the cut that we find fitting for a low-maintenance gal like Lawrence,” the e-zine adds.

Indeed, the ‘do is strikingly different from the one she sported right after the Oscars, where she won her first award for Best Actress, for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Just one day after the ceremony, where she wore her long hair in a simple but extremely elegant updo, Jennifer stepped out with dark hair.

She then flew immediately to Hawaii for reshoots on “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” in which she plays lead Katniss.

Now that she’s ditched the brunette locks, it’s safe to assume that work on the movie is completely done as far as she’s concerned. “Catching Fire” is now in post-production, for a November release.

In the meantime, Jennifer has been keeping busy shooting a new film with Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and her “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Bradley Cooper, “American Hustle,” which is directed by the famous David O. Russell.
