The PlayStation Portable handheld from Sony has managed to keep its first place in the individual model hardware charts compiled by Media Create for the Japanese market as Namco Bandai published God Eater: Burst managed to take over the first place of the video game chart in its first week.

All hardware platforms have seen a clear increase in sales, with the exception of the old DS Lite, with buyers picking up devices as early gifts.

The PSP managed to sell 38,874 units, which is significantly more than the 33,515 it managed during the previous seven day period but the biggest increase in units moved has been for the LL version of the DSi, jumping from 15,819 to 32,137.

The PlayStation 3 home console reached 28,255 units sold, up from 20,128, but fell to third place overall in the hardware chart, followed by the DSi, with 23,614 and the Wii, which reached 12,710 up from 11,971.

The PlayStation Portable Go, which has seen a price drop in Japan, managed to triple its overall sales and brought the handheld up in the chart just behind the DS Lite but higher than the Xbox 360 from Microsoft the ten years old PS2.

God Eater: Burst, for the PSP from Namco Bandai, managed to move 263,150 copies in its first week on sales and is followed in second place by World Soccer Winning Eleven 2011, from Konami for the PlayStation 3, another new entry that managed to sell 215,227 units.

Super Mario Collection: Special Pack from Nintendo for the Wii, a former number one, now sits in third with sales of 119,227, followed by Pokemon Black and White, another former number one that continues to have solid sales, managing to move 68,686 copies to fans.

Fifth place went to Golden Sun: Dark Dawn from Nintendo, followed by Kirby's Epic Yarn, Solatorobo: Sore kara Coda, Fable III, Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm 2 and Wii Party.
