A classic quest from 10tacle Studios

All the classic adventure fans out there could get a little bit happier, since Jack Keane, a point 'n' click adventure developed by 10tacle Studios has been signed by publisher Kalypso. Why would adventurers be happy just because of that? Well, because Keane promises to be a "back to basics" adventure game in a fully 3D world.

In other words, if you miss those classic adventure games that used to make you laugh like crazy (let's say LucasArts games, for example), Keane will try to solve the problem. Fans have already appreciated the new Sam and Max series, but Leisure Suit Larry's transfer into the 3D world wasn't exactly a success. This means that we have to wait and see if the game will have what it takes.

Judging from the information "leaked" from the developers, we should have some high expectations. First, because it's 10tacle Studios we're talking about. Second, because the game's story will be an amusing one, with loads of allusions to well-known computer games and classic movies. The main character will be Jack Keane, an adventurer captain from the colonial period, who will travel to different places, such as London, Capetown or the jungles of India. In London he accepts a risky assignment for the Queen: it's up to Jack to travel to a remote island and stop a mad scientist out to rule the world with his army of trained apes. Trained apes? I love the game already!

Of course, no game is a solid one if there's no love story attached somewhere, and Keane has it straight from the beginning: he will meet the beautiful Amanda - before he'll meet the evil scientist, his plans and... carnivorous plants. And apes, of course!

We'll have a lot of funny cinematics in the game, as well as over 40 amusing characters, with two of them playable (yes, the beautiful Amanda too), over 300 objects and, a great feature for everybody: different solutions to puzzles! And everything will be available in March 2008.
