Jack Keane and the Dokktor's Island, also known as "Jack Keane" and... nothing else, is the latest classic point 'n' click adventure game developed by 10tacle. And not any adventure game, but one that promises to bring back the sweet memories of the Monkey Island era, for example. The game has been signed by Strategy First to be distributed in North America and the release is set for the 15th of April 2008.

"In Strategy First we have found a great distribution partner for North America for our amusing, action-packed adventure hit 'Jack Keane'. We are confident that the outstanding product quality and the comprehensive, target-oriented, marketing and PR campaign will find a broad audience who will be very much interested in the adventure of the sympathetic and bearish hero," said Frank Holz Marketing & Sales Director, 10Tacle Studios.

The game comes packed with allusions to well known computer games and classic movies, and a ton of funny situations or comic dialogs. Set in the colonial period, the game sees Jack accepting a job from the Queen of England herself: he has to take a British secret agent to a mysterious place called "Tooth Island". But everything is about to get really crazy, since the ship shatters on the cliffs on arrival and the secret agent becomes the meal for a monster in the jungle.

During your adventure, you will meet the evil Doctor T, a mad scientist that is cultivating man eating plants and has a personal army of apes and has his own plans regarding the British Empire. You will also meet and control the beautiful Amanda who is filled by an almost fanatical drive to prove her worth and works, at the beginning, for Doctor T. But it won't take long until she will realize that she's on the wrong side and she should team up with Jack Keane.

I only have to add one thing regarding this point 'n' click adventure title: 10tacle Studios insist that Jack Keane and the Dokktor's Island is indeed a funny adventure in the LucasArts style and, even more, they call it "the funniest adventure game in the footsteps of Monkey Island". Now you decide if it's worth a try or not.
