Rapper Ice-T may be starring in Gears of War 3, according to what he said during a live Ustream conversation. He immediately retracted his declaration and said that he didn't just state that. One year ago, Cliff Bleszinski and Ice-T had a conversation in which they revealed their intention to collaborate on the then-unannounced Gears of War 3.

The talk took place during a Jace Hall YouTube show and went something like this: the rapper insisted that he should talk to Cliff Bleszinski, the Gears of War lead designer, to star in Gears of War. He told him, "Put Ice-T on the box, that's a million sales right there." This summoned a reply from CliffyB, who said, "If there is a Gears 3, which you never know, I have a feeling there will be a part for you," which prompted a very positive response from Ice-T. He promised Bleszinski that they would talk about that offer soon.

Gears of War 3 has been recently announced by Epic Games, the title's developer, and is set to be released in April 2011 exclusively for the Xbox 360. New features include a cooperative multiplayer for four players and two new playable characters, Anya Stroud and Jace Stratton. New weapons are also promised, like a double barreled shotgun, a Digger Launcher that fires piranha like animals, or the One Shot, a recoil-less rifle with a rather self-explanatory use.

Another new addition to the series is the possibility to employ a Mech suit. It will be equipped with a machine gun on the left arm and a rocket launcher on the right one. It can be used in two modes, an Assault mode that lets the player move and gives them a weaker armor, and a Stationary one that increases the strength of the armor and transforms the Mech into a kind of bunker, but renders it immobile.
