With Computex, MWC and CES already trailing in the past, we can now focus on the future. First stop, Google’s I/O event, where Android will rule supreme and the Nexus 8 will probably see the light of the day.

After which, the summer is pretty much free until IFA 2014. This is another major tech convention that takes place in Berlin, Germany in September, where a lot of device manufacturers gather with the exact purpose of launching new, atypical products.

And like in the past years, Samsung is expected to bring forth a lot of surprises and that’s not really a surprise. But the most recent report coming from Korean Media gives us a glimpse at Sammy’s full agenda for the event.

Samsung was previously touted to plan the introduction of the flagship Galaxy Note 4 at the event and now we receive another confirmation by virtue of these new sources. So what shall we expect?

Gear Glass or Gear Blink

But for our purposes, we should highlight that the Galaxy Note 4 will not come alone, but Samsung’s Google Glass competitor in tow. Moreover, a slew of new wearables is going to see the light of day in beautiful Germany too.

We’re not given any specifics related to exactly what wearables we’re going to be seeing at IFA, but we can already take a guess.

Samsung’s Google Glass competitor surfaced a while ago, when an application filled by the Korean tech giant appeared. The document shows Samsung might be calling the device the Gear Blink, which will probably arrive looking like a Bluetooth earpiece with a heads-up display.

Health-centric wearables and smartwatches

Previous reports also indicated that the Samsung Gear 3 smartwatch would be headed for Berlin. At this point, we don’t know whether the Gear 3 refers to the company’s standalone smartwatch that allows users to place phone calls or it’s going to be the first Android Wear smartwatch to come out of Sammy.

Although judging by the name, it should be safe to assume the smartwatch will run Tizen OS.

Moving away from smartwatches, Samsung has also recently unveiled the wearable Simband platform, which is designed to monitor health-related parameters in real-time.

Future Simband wearable will arrive with an ingenious battery system that can be clipped into the strap and pump the necessary life juice when needed.

Simband devices are currently prototypes, but IFA takes place in September so the Korean tech giant has plenty of time to finish working on one or more of such items.
