Samsung has been rumored to be working on a Google Glass alternative

As some of us might have already been expecting, it appears Samsung is gearing up to provide some needed completion to the Google Glass, with a head-mounted wearable of its own.

Recently, Asian sources claimed the so-called Gear Glass would be introduced as soon as September at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany.

The report also claimed Samsung would use its in-house Tizen platform to support the device. Now a new application filled by the Korean tech giant might suggest what Sammy is looking to call the Google Glass competitor, reports GalaxyClub.

Although the application doesn't show much details, we might want to remember the Gear Blink name, because this could be the Google Glass alternative that was rumored not so long ago.

Of course, this is just speculation at this point, but could you think of a wearable product (the Gear moniker shows without a shadow of doubt that this is indeed a wearable) where blinking would play an important part, except a pair of smart glasses?

Anyway, information is extremely sketchy about the Gear Blink, even if Samsung has already filled a bunch of patents revolving around smart glasses. The most recent one, suggests Sammy, is taking a different approach, compared to Google, in the form a Bluetooth earpiece combined with a head-up display.
